Ranu Mukherjee is a multi-disciplinary artist making hybrid films, ink paintings, sari pictures and collaborative or public projects.

Her work is underpinned by a neo-futurist perspective and probes ways that contemporary life is shaped by processes of creolization and nomadic conditions. She composes from a wide variety of source material, researched, found and made, from historical and mythological imagery to contemporary print and film. She explores the visceral excesses of narrative and engages viewers through a hybrid and visibly crafted aesthetic.

Ranu co-created the collaborative artist orphan drift in London in the 1990's. She has participated in numerous exhibitions and screenings internationally. She is represented by Gallery Wendi Norris.

Ranu has 6 year old triplets and almost fully grown tentacles.
