The Dead and the Wild: 9 channel animation, 2018, 11 minutes, HD . ‘The dead and the Wild’ is a 9 channel animation, originally created as part of A Bright Stage, commissioned by the De Young Museum, San Francisco. The animation consists of nine extinct bird species which repeatedly form and deconstruct from a series of fragments. The re-animating of these birds calls up the 19th century roots of museum collections and the way that the objects and subjects of colonization continue to speak to us, even after death.
